Elizabeth Taylor – owner of some of the most famous jewels in the world - was one of Kenneth’s biggest fans. Elizabeth arrived at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival in a pair of glamorous crystal chandelier earrings in a design originally by Kenneth Jay Lane. But there's a reverse twist - she purchased his earrings and then had them recreated with actual diamonds. Elizabeth also purchased at auction a fine jewelry feather brooch owned by Wallis Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor that Kenneth later recreated as fashion jewelry.
